SHA-256 fingerprint
Each document gets a SHA-256 digital fingerprint. If even one character in the file changes, the fingerprint changes too.
Encrypted storage
Documents are encrypted in private storage, and every connection to the website uses HTTPS.
Email code check
Before signing, each signer enters a one-time code sent to their email. Codes expire, and repeated wrong tries are blocked.
Audit certificate
A separate certificate lists each signing event with times in UTC and the signer's local time, and the completed file's fingerprint.
Device and network details
The record includes the signer's IP address and browser or device, along with their email and consent.
Encrypted backups
Scheduled encrypted backups cover the database, application files and signing evidence.
Plainly said: TRACE Agree reads documents on our server to place signatures and build the certificate, so this is not end-to-end encryption. Always download and keep your own copy of important signed documents.

Do the people signing need an account?
No. Signers open the link in their email and confirm a one-time code. Only the people who send documents need a TRACE Agree account.
Are electronic signatures legal for construction documents?
Many countries generally accept electronic signatures for business contracts, for example the United States (the federal ESIGN Act and state UETA laws), Canada, the European Union (eIDAS Regulation), the United Kingdom (Electronic Communications Act 2000) and Australia (Electronic Transactions Act 1999). Some documents, such as certain recorded or notarized forms, have extra rules, and some places require a qualified electronic signature, which TRACE Agree does not provide. Check what applies to your document and location.
What counts as a document request?
One document sent for signing counts as one request, regardless of pages or signing parties. Drafts, reminders, verification codes and later signing steps do not use additional requests. Your selected plan shows the included allowance and any optional extra-request price. A one-time starter allowance does not refill with renewal or reactivation; existing subscriptions keep their accepted terms.
Does everyone have to sign in the same order?
You choose. Invite signers together, or use an order so the next person is invited after the previous person finishes. Add copy-only recipients when someone needs the final document without signing it.
Can I finish preparing a document later?
Yes. Save your document as a draft, then return to finish the fields and recipients before sending.
What will I receive when signing is complete?
The completed PDF and its audit certificate stay with the document. Signers and copy-only recipients receive access to the completed copy after everyone has signed, and the sender gets a completion email.
How do I cancel?
Cancel from your account billing page. See Refunds & cancellation. Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Payments are not refunded except where the law requires it.
Can I use my existing TRACE login?
Yes. Use your existing TRACE email and password. The features you see depend on the access assigned to your account.
